Fitchburg Sportsman’s Club Bowling Pin Shoot Rules:
Fee: $10.00 for the day
Recommended Calibers: .40 or
.45 ACP, .44 special and .357 magnum anything less will be difficult as the pins need to shot off the table.
Safety: All Firearms behind the firing line will remain unloaded and in a safe condition.
For autoloaders, the magazines will be removed, the slides open and the chambers clear.
For revolvers, the cylinders will be open and empty, hammer down. The muzzles of all firearms will be pointed downrange or otherwise in a safe direction. Children will require close supervision.
Safety is everybody’s responsibility.
The Course of fire: Each relay is made up of eight shooters. The relay will begin with four heats of two shooters each. In each heat the shooter who clears the table first wins that heat and goes on to compete against another successful shooter in that relay.
The shooter who wins all three heats in that relay take first place. There will be four pins equally spaced on the center of the table. The Range is 25 feet. The appropriate shooters will be called to one of two positions on the line.
The Range officer will give the command to “load”. Shooters will be allowed to load their firearms at this time.
The range officer will give the command “Guns on the table” the firearm will be in the ready condition with the muzzle resting down on the table, with the muzzle pointed downrange.
The range officer will give the commands “Ready on the left”, “Ready on the Right” and blow the whistle.
The shooters will commence fire until one shooter has cleared all the pins from his table. The whistle will be blown again and the shooters will immediately “cease fire”, unload their firearms and restore them to the safe condition.
The winner will be announced at this time. No one will be allowed down range to reset pins until it is determined that the line is safe. A shooter may bring as much ammunition to the shooting position as he or she wants. If a shooter runs out of ammunition he or she may not leave the position until the heat is over.
Magazines and speedloaders may be loaded with a maximum of six rounds each. Shooters who are successful enough to win a first place will be given an extra pin for each heat during the rest of the day. The maximum number of pins for any shooter will be six.
