The Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club is pleased to host a civilian level trauma victim treatment class. The officers and members of the board of directors have already taken this class and the Spring class for club members and the public was a sellout. With hunting season around the corner and Winter on its way people will be preparing their firearms, cutting, and splitting wood for the wood stoves and fireplaces as well as fighting the holiday crowds at the malls. What would you do if you came across an accident where someone is bleeding severely? Or worse, someone you know, and love suffers a severe bleeding injury, gunshot wound, impalement or chainsaw accident?,,,
We all hope this never occurs but what if it does? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
THIS IS NOT A FIRST AID CLASS. At this class you will learn the skills to keep a trauma victim alive when minutes, or even seconds count, until emergency personnel arrive.
The class includes the following:
How to properly apply a tourniquet (hands on)
How to properly plug/pack a wound (hands on)
How to properly seal a chest or back wound where air is escaping
Different types of shock and how to treat people in shock
and much more.....
The class will be taught by Greg Miller of Tree Street Medical Group in Nashua NH. Check out Greg’s and his staff's credentials at http://www.treestreetmedicalgroup.com.
The class will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 8:00 AM – Noon at the Fitchburg Sportsmen’s Club clubhouse at 289 Rindge State Road (Rt.119) in Ashburnham, MA.
