"MODIFIED" Bullseye Pistol Shoot -- CANCELED

COURSE OF FIRE:

Course of fire will consist of 3 stages.  Stage 1 will be slow fire – 10 rounds in 10 minutes.  Stage 2 will be timed fire – 5 rounds in 20 seconds (fired two times).  Stage 3 will be rapid fire – 5 rounds in 10 seconds (fired two times).  Aggregate course of fire will be 30 rounds.

Targets will be NRA B-16 for slow fire and NRA B-8 for timed and rapid fire.  All targets will be placed at a distance of 25 yards.

Shooting will be done in the standing position using one or two handed stance.

Any pistol or revolver may be used with any sights, except those that project an image onto the target.

SEQUENCE OF FIRE:

Each relay will consist of up to 8 shooters.  On command of the Range Officer, relay shooters will move downrange and set up targets.  Once all shooters have returned from downrange the Range Officer will put up the red flag.  Relay shooters will then move to a shooting lane and bench their handgun in a safe condition.  Shooters may then load magazines (as necessary) and insure their eye and ear protection are in place.

Range officer will then advise relay shooters of stage of fire to be conducted (slow fire, timed fire or rapid fire) to include number of rounds and time allowed.

The Range Officer will then issue the following commands:

-“Shooters, keeping your weapon pointed up and downrange, load one magazine and assume a firing position”.

- “Shooters on the line, ready….…commence firing” (timer will start).

Relay shooters will then aim and fire at their own pace until time expires or they expend all rounds.  Upon completion of firing, shooters will place their weapon back on shooting bench in safe and empty condition.  During slow fire stage, shooters will reload as necessary on their own to fire the specified 10 rounds.

When time expires, Range Officer will command “Cease Fire” followed by “insure your weapon is safe and empty”.  The Range/Safety Officer will visually check each handgun to insure safe and empty.  At this time, the green flag will be put up and shooters will move downrange to retrieve their targets and set up new targets for the next stage of fire.  Targets which have been shot will be turned into the scorer for tabulation.

This sequence will continue until all shooters have completed all stages of the course.
