FSC Rules & Regulations

For use of the Swallow Hill Property Revised November, 2012

These Rules and Regulations were adopted by the FISH and GAME Committee with the earnest hope that every member of the club will cooperate to see that they are observed. It is your duty to report any violations. Encourage your fellow members to observe at all times the principles of GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, be fair to yourself, to the other members, and your club.        - FISH and GAME COMMITTEE

FISHING

Fishing privliges are open to any member in good standing. All laws and regulations (including limits) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts apply to any member fishing on the Swallow Hill property. Fishing is not allowed on stocking days.

Club Sponsored fishing derbies:

During Club sponsored fishing derbies, the Fitchburg Sportsmens club Fish and Game Committee has the right to change any rules and limits.

Boats

No boats are allowed on the Fly Pools or the Middle Pond at any time. Boats may be used on the big ponds but the Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club, Inc., will not be responsible for loss or damage to them.


HUNTING

All laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts apply to any member hunting on the Swallow Hill Property. Hunting is not allowed on stocking days.


RANGES

The ranges are available for use by members who have completed the range orientation course. Upon completion of the course members are provided with the combination for the range gates. Any member found violating these rules may be subject to disciplinary action. All ranges on the property are closed Monday through Saturday during Shotgun and Muzzleloader season for deer.

The trap range is open to use by members at any time and only biodegradable clays which can be purchased at the club may be used. During trap shooting events the trap range is open to the public. During public trap shooting events firearms must be handled with the action open and unloaded at all times except for when it is your turn to shoot. When shooting trap, only one shell can be loaded in your firearm at a time (unless shooting doubles, when you may load two shells.) Shot sizes 7, 71/2, or 8 are allowed on the trap range - all other shot sizes are not permitted.

TRAPPING

All laws and regulations of the Commonweath of Massachusetts apply to any member trapping on the Swallow Hill Property.

GENERAL USE BY MEMBERS

Members are urged to use the club grounds for picnics, walks, and other recreation with their families and guests. The member must be present at all times, and is responsible for the conduct of the party while on the premises.

No trees, evergreens, or shrubs are to be removed from the property. Caution should be exercised at all times in building fires, and they must be put out before leaving. Please do not conflict with the rights of other members using the property.

OTHER USE

Any other special use of club property not listed above, must be approved by the Board of Directors.

It is understood that the Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club shall not be held responsible for any accidents occurring on the property.

ANY VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE RULES MAY LEAD TO SUSPENSION FROM THE CLUB.
